Baftas 2026: Best Watch and Jewellery Moments

The awards season may be long, but it’s not without suspense and surprises to keep us on our toes. Just last night, at the 79th British Academy Film Awards (Baftas), the thrill kicked in before the envelopes were even ripped open. The red carpet supplied the drama with a glut of breathtaking jewellery and watches. Cinema’s best and brightest descended upon London’s Royal Festival Hall and did what they do best—put on a show.

The star of If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Rose Byrne, makes a great case in point. Exuding grace and glamour at once, the Best Actress hopeful put on Boucheron’s Plume de Paon earrings in white gold with diamonds. Completing the look were the diamond-studded ring and wedding band from the same collection. Bugonia actress and fellow nominee Emma Stone also captivated the spectators with the Elan Vital bracelet and LV Diamonds studs by Louis Vuitton.

Chase Infiniti of One Battle After Another made a head-turning debut at the Baftas in a De Beers ensemble. Continuing her red carpet streak, the starlet arrived wearing the Arpeggia Five Line high jewellery earrings in rose gold, along with matching bracelets and rings. Statement earrings were indeed among the biggest winners of the evening. Sinner’s Wunmi Mosaku, who claimed the Best Supporting Actress trophy, sparkled in the teardrop hoop earrings by Moussaieff.

When it comes to watches, a number of heavy hitters opted for pieces inspired by the racing world, which is symbolic as they vie for one of the industry’s most covetable hardware. Leonardo DiCaprio, who ties the record for the most Best Actor nominations at the Baftas, stayed ahead of the curve with Rolex’s Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona. Patrick Dempsey matched this energy to perfection with the Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon.

That said, the carpet saw no shortage of the classics. Blue Moon star Ethan Hawke and The Secret Agent actor Wagner Moura both went with Omega’s tried-and-tested timepieces. While the former chose the 30mm Seamaster Aqua Terra in stainless steel with a pine green dial, the latter picked the 41mm De Ville Prestige steel on a leather strap. Timothée Chalamet, on the other hand, stood apart from the pack with the groundbreaking Urban Jürgensen UJ-2.
