According to Glashütte Original, it’s hip to be square

In 2015, Glashütte Original unveiled the Sixties Iconic collection—five uniquely colourful automatic timepieces inspired by classic watches from the 60s. Fast forward to today, the German watchmaker continues to pay tribute to the era with a special collection of five square chronographs, aptly named the Sixties Iconic Square collection.

Like its round-shaped predecessors, the Sixties Iconic Square timepieces feature distinctive dials made by the Glashütte Original’s own dial manufactory in Pforzheim, Germany. The stunning dial visuals are a result of intricate, labour-intensive work, where utmost attention is given to the application of coloured lacquers in order to achieve the precise hues and shading for a dégradé effect.

The collection consists of five suave dial colours: Sixties Iconic Forest, Sixties Iconic Ocean, Sixties Iconic Graphite, Sixties Iconic Tangerine and Sixties Iconic Fire. Unique design aside, the timepieces also bears characteristic attributes of fine watchmaking in Glashütte tradition—the square cushion-shaped stainless steel case houses the manufactory automatic Calibre 39-34 chronograph.

The Sixties Iconic Square collection is available in the Glashütte Original boutique at The Shoppes, Marina Bay Sands.
