Omega unveils 007’s latest timepiece: the Seamaster 300 Spectre

To mark the release of the 24th James Bond film, Swiss watch manufacturer—Omega unveils its exclusive edition of the iconic Seamaster watch, enabling fans and watch collectors to don the same model worn by 007 himself.

To announce the exciting news, actor Daniel Craig paid a special visit to the Omega factory in Villeret, Switzerland. As an avid collector himself, the Bond actor was taken on a guided tour around the factory with an exclusive access of its assembly line, as well as a special preview of the production of the new Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre.

“I think what was so impressive was the fact that these watches are made from the ground up. You start with nothing, and then there’s suddenly a working watch.” Says the Bond actor. “That’s the beauty of it. To see the engineering that goes into it and the legacy that goes into it, that’s what fascinated me.”

With its quintessential style and naval history, the Seamaster has been the timepiece for 007 since the release of GoldenEye in 1995. The launch of the new model marks the first official partnership between the brand and franchise, as only until now, commemorative editions have been used to celebrate the releases of the preceding movies.

With only 7,007 pieces manufactured, this special timepiece is driven by the Omega Master Co-Axial calibre 8400, a revolutionary movement in its own. Together with a bi-directional, rotating diving bezel that is made from black polished ceramic, the limited-edition model features a LiquidMetal® 12 hour scale, enabling it to keep time with any country in the world.

Alongside this, other exceptional features include the ‘lollipop’ central seconds hands and the 5-stripe black and grey NATO strap which features a 007 gun logo engraving on its strap holder. To imbue a unique touch, each and every watch is engraved with its own unique serial number along with the Spectre film logo on its back.
