Hot on the heels of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (Product) Red special editions that were launched last year are the newly released iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (Product) Red special edition models. Established by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006, (Red) supports The Global Fund, an organisation designed to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. A portion of proceeds from the sale of (Product) Red is contributed to The Global Fund HIV/AIDS grants, which provides resources for educating, testing, treating, and prevention programs specifically aiming to eliminate transmission of the virus from mothers to their babies.
“This special edition (Product) Red iPhone features a stunning red and black colour combination and also offers customers the opportunity to make an impact in fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS,“ said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing.
The special edition (Product) Red iPhones feature a bright red finish on the back, with matching aluminum band, and a black front feature that wholly complements the red finish. Constructed to perfection, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus features an alluring glass caseback, a Retina HD display that is ever so attractive, alongside the A11 Bionic chip that powers the phone to its best performance, and of course, the dual camera feature (on the iPhone 8 Plus) that works as one to capture precious moments.
