Review: The Samsung Galaxy Watch7 has inspired us to become more active

What time is it? It’s time to elevate your wrist game with the Samsung Galaxy Watch7. This stunning smartwatch combines stylish design with cutting-edge technology, making it the finest Galaxy Watch yet. Whether you’re after fashion or functionality, this watch truly sets the bar high.

The watch is said to be designed as your guide to self-discovery, and we see no falsehood in that statement. With over 100 workout options to track, it offers countless opportunities to embrace a healthy lifestyle with its treasure trove of wellness features. While we might not have become elite athletes, just yet—we have the smartwatch for about a month now and wearing it has certainly made us put in the effort to work out. Plus, knowing we can effortlessly track every workout we’ve tackled over the past month makes all the difference. It’s like having a personal coach on your wrist, guiding you through your fitness journey.

Here are some standout features of the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 that really caught our attention.

Get very physical

And we mean it. As advertised, the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 holds more than 100 workouts, plus customisable laps and sessions to help you track your fitness journey, even more precisely. Race is a feature on the watch that lets you compare your past and present progress in real-time, helping you stay focused on your goals. After all, our only competition is ourselves—IYKYK. In addition to helping you achieve your fitness goals, this smartwatch features a Body Composition tool to help you better understand your body. While it may not be as accurate as the BMI machines, it still gets the job done fairly quickly and easily.

If you’re a voyager who loves exploring deep into the woods, you’ll appreciate the dual-frequency GPS system that tracks your location even in dense urban environments. It’s the first Galaxy smartwatch to offer this capability.

It really is smart

Like the other gadgets in the lineup, the watch is also powered by Galaxy AI. With just the watch, it’s able to gather all the data which includes sleeping cycle, heart rate, and any physical activity you may or may not have done, and share your personalised Energy Score. Sharing with you insights on what can be done to improve your health day by day. Other non-fitness-related features include suggested replies, allowing you to respond to texts without pulling out your phone, as well as the ability to transcribe recorded audio on your Galaxy Watch7 and translate or summarise it on your phone. There are also Sleep Apnea Detection, Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications, and Blood Pressure Monitoring that we haven’t explored yet, but thankfully, we didn’t need to.

With a 40mm display, navigation is incredibly smooth, even for the stubbiest fingers. However, the size and weight of the watch can feel uncomfortable at times, especially while sleeping, as it’s not the lightest or thinnest option. Some users may choose not to wear it to bed, which could interfere with the Energy Score analysis. This is why the tech brand has also introduced the Galaxy Ring as an alternative. As for battery life, it’s impressive to see that it can last up to three days without charging, even with the workout features in use. That’s pretty impressive.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch7 is available in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm. The 40mm model comes in Green and Cream, while the 44mm model is available in Green and Silver. Prices start at RM1,199.
