‘Twas a night to remember for Buro 24/7 Malaysia’s third birthday bash. They say third time’s the charm so we went all out with a party manor. Beyond the velvet ropes at the JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur, guests were welcomed through the gates of The Buro Mansion. Inside, the foyer opened up to a lush garden scene, our blooming photowall decorated with fresh roses inspired by the floral notes of the Miss Dior fragrance.
Our party guests were treated to Ladurée French canapés, Heineken beer and impromptu party tricks by our resident magicians as we eagerly await for the mansion doors to open. Anticipation was high as the lights dimmed low, all eyes were fixed on the doors as a futuristic projection mapping by Whimsy digitally painted the entryway. Leading us into the mansion, the MAD Dance Crew pumped up the crowd to the low base tones of Christina Aguilera as they showed us how they burlesque in sequinned showgirl attire. Now, that’s how you kickstart a party!

Stepping in as our hostess with the mostest, Hunny Madu was our Jay Gatsby of the evening as she welcomed all the guests into the Buro Mansion. Everybody was dressed to the nines—Fattah Amin was clad in a chequered suit by Fendi and Neelofa toted the new Louis Vuitton wave bag. Editor-in-Chief Cai Mei Khoo radiated in a regal column dress by Khoon Hooi embellished with teardrop pearls.

The party officially started as all the rooms in the mansion were opened. Let’s give you a tour of the party crib, shall we? Food first! JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur served delicious party food over in the ‘Dining Room’. The Mac & Cheese, noodles and bolognaise was particularly scumptious. Looking for something sweet? We had a Dessert Bar! Party-goers were treated to Ladurée French macarons in an assortment of flavours along with La Fraise, a strawberry crème mousseline with a hint of coconut. A refreshing confection that was also a feast to the eyes with its amazing craftmanship.

As we kicked the party into high gear, party guests made their way to ‘The Garage’ to check out the latest sweet rides by Mercedes-Benz. The C43 and C250 Coupe AMG Line graced us with their presence in their chrome on chrome glory. Wanna take these babies on a spin?
Over to ‘The Bar’, guests sipped on bubbly champagne by Moet & Chandon as we toasted to the night. The specially concocted Buro cocktail by Hennessy VSOP received many compliments and second (and third) servings. The widely stocked bar continued to serve Heineken beer to the brew lovers and Strongbow cider with their fun Gold Apple and Dark Fruit flavours.

Needed a little touch up from all that partying? Buro’s got your back at ‘The Powder Room’. Guests were treated to a complimentary make-up polish courtesy of Laura Mercier. Pics or it didn’t happen —complete with a plush couch and velvet wall, the pretty pink corner was photo-ready for selfies and wefies. Do it for the ‘Gram! On to the ‘Salon’, the masters of tresses L’Oréal Professionnel brought in hairstylists from Hairkunst, Shawn Cutler and A-Saloon to provide guests for a quick hair fix. The digital hair catalogue on the Samsung tablet made the selection easy and fuss-free. No bad hair days here!
From the garden themed photowall at the foyer to the multiple rooms, the grand centrepiece tied the Buro Mansion together with a custom-made tiered fountain by outdoor landscaping experts Rent A Pot. Fixed with holographic mapping by Whimsy, this wasn’t your ordinary fountain. Guests were able to interact with the virtual and physical scuplture with a wave of hand for a musical surprise!
The entertainment for the night was brought on by mystery and magic. The MADgicians had multiple tricks up their sleeve as they delivered an enchanting performance with doves, fire and a jaw-dropping disappearing act. The captivating act held the gaze of the audience, blink and you’ll miss it!

Local band Fazz serenaded the crowd with their jazzy tunes intermixed with upbeat throwback classics. Our favourite was definitely ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ (we dare you to say this five times, real fast) from Disney’s 1964 musical film Mary Poppins, as it got everybody moving to the insanely fast beat. As the clock striked closer to midnight, the swanky evening was met with 21st century beats by DJ Blink and Ashley as they opened up the dance floor – the perfect way to end a great night.
