3. LET YOUR INNER BOOKWORM RUN FREE AT KL READING FESTIVAL 2026

It’s time to bring some new reads to your bookshelf! The KL Reading Fest 2026 is taking place this weekend at GMBB in the heart of KL, featuring over 30 vendors. You’ll get to meet booksellers, independent publishers, and fellow bookworms as you discover some rare reads. Indie publications, and big titles. There is also a schedule of activities for you to enjoy, including author talks, book clubs, a sunrise book walk, and more!

4. CELEBRATE THE OPENING OF ANDDEN?’S NEW SPACE IN BANGSAR

Furniture and clothing collective andDen? has unveiled its new space in Bangsar and you’re invited to its grand opening party! As you browse through its pieces on the racks and floors, you can enjoy coffee by Money, ceramic pieces by Shozoku, and 3D printed lights by Ratio Design. As for music, their friends DJs Viene, Anlka, and Wavey will be on the decks, taking care of the tunes of the day. Anyone looking to get some fresh ink can also head upstairs to its tattoo pop-up by Blanc Art Studio.

5. ENJOY MODERN CHINESE FLAVOURS WITH POURS AT ROOTHOUSE BY GEN X UNWINED’S ‘RETURN TO YOUR ROOTS’

Prepare your appetites because Roothouse by Gen is making the trip down from Penang for a pop-up at Unwined! The menu will feature the restaurant’s signature modern Chinese and Malaysian flavours to be paired with some crispy pours straight from the Unwined fridges. Be warned: seats are limited, so make sure to get there early to secure yours!

6. SHOW UP FOR A GOOD CAUSE AT ‘STAND WITH MYANMAR’ 2026 

When: 27 to 28 June 2026 | 27 June – 1.30pm to 7pm | 28 June – 11am to 7pm

Where: The Godown Arts Centre

Happening at The Godown this weekend, Stand With Myanmar is a community-led initiative that aims to support the local Myanmar diaspora here in Malaysia. The event comprises a bazaar, food stalls with traditional Myanmar dishes, city walking tour, craft workshops, and more. Attendees will be given a passport upon arrival to fill up as they make their way around the activity spaces and exhibitions. As it fills up, they can use the stamps to redeem traditional Myanmar food at the bazaar.

7. SHOP FOR THE SUMMER AT SUNNY SIDE UP MARKET’S THE FEEL GOOD

8. ADMIRE THE ART OF BHARATANATYAM DANCE AT “AYODHYA PUTRA”

When: 28 June 2026

Where: Kala Mandapam, Brickfields

Price: Donations at a minimum of RM30 will receive an invite 

Twenty one dancers, a live orchestra, and subtitled storytelling—this is a performance of an ancient Indian epic as you’ve never seen before. Presented by Mahavidya Dance Theatre, “Ayodhya Putra” is a Bharatanatyam dance drama that brings to life the legendary tale of the Ramayana. With digital screens providing English subtitles, this rich cultural performance is designed to be grand, emotional, and accessible to everyone. Further, this performance also carries a meaningful social purpose, as public support helps sustain free dance classes for children from struggling and underprivileged families. Donations are also open for you to support the troupe even if you can’t make the performance.
