The Samsung Galaxy J Series is back and this time, the 2016 version boasts of data-saving capabilities with the inclusion of Ultra Data Saving (UDS) Mode. Inspired by the vast amount of time we spend on our phones—specifically on apps that require data—Samsung’s UDS Mode is built to compress data efficiently and restricts background apps from running in the background except for the user’s personally selected few.
According to Samsung, users can save up to an average of 50% on their mobile data while increasing battery standby time by two-folds as well as faster browsing experience due to lower RAM usage. To give a sample of how effective the UDS Mode is, test results by Opera Max shows 62% of data saved while on Instagram and 46% on YouTube.
The Galaxy J Series (2016) comes in three colours for all three models—J1, J5 and J7—where the main difference between them is the size. All three models, however, comes standard with dual-SIM support.
