Rimowa’s first stand-alone store in Japan is an Instagram gem

Rimowa continues to cement its status as the leading brand for luxury luggage. After an eventful 2018 of numerous collaborations (including a see-through Off-White x Rimowa luggage collection)—and we don’t expect them to slow down anytime this year—the LVMH-owned brand recently opened its first flagship store in Japan, specifically at the popular luxury shopping district Ginza in Tokyo.

Set across two floors with a total space of 877 sqm., the store not only features Rimowa’s extensive range of suitcases and accessories but is home to a service counter and a full-fledged repair centre.

In addition, they’ve collaborated with contemporary Japanese label, Ambush (founded by popular icons Verbal and Yoon) for a new luggage handle and luggage tag created exclusively for the store.

The new Ambush travel accessories are part of Rimowa’s personalisation range and the Ginza 7-Chome store is one of the few stores in the world to offer personalisation items.

While you’re there, take your time to take in the gorgeous interior design that clearly embodies traditional Japanese culture but with a touch of minimalism and modernity. Think soft earthy tones, the use of wooden materials and that backdrop inspired by basket weaving. We give it a full one hundred Instagram-worthy points!
