A little background on Short+Sweet for those who are not familiar with the festival: it is a performing arts platform for a wide range of disciplines, allowing both veteran and aspiring talents to showcase what they have in a creative, collaborative, competitive and professional environment—and it gets bigger every year. This year, the performing arts festival features categories in theatre, dance, musical, stand-up comedy and song. Keeping it short and sweet (pun intended), musical, dance and theatre shows are kept to 10 minutes, while song and stand-up comedy talents prepare 5-minute showcases.
While the stand-up comedy, song and musical segments of the festival have come to pass this year, there is still dance and theatre to look forward to. Short+ Sweet Dance kicks off tonight, while Short+Sweet Theatre is set to take the stage on 18 October.
