‘Mary Poppins Returns’ soundtrack is giving us all the feels

If there’s a classic movie that we will never get bored of, Mary Poppins would rank high on top of the list. The original movie first released in 1964 is considered to be one of the best live-action films that Disney has ever done. It won several Oscars awards including Best Actress for Julie Andrews, Best Film Editing, Best Visual Effects, Best Original Music Score and Best Original Song for ‘Chim Chim Cher-ee’.

What makes this movie such a memorable one is of course the choreography and music. Naturally, the new live-action Mary Poppins Returns has big shoes to fill. Disney has released two new songs from the soundtrack. Emily Blunt, who plays the titular character, puts her heart into ‘The Place Where Lost Things Go’ while Lin-Manuel Miranda, who portrays Jack the lamplighter, gives us the lively ‘Trip a Little Light Fantastic’. There are a total of 27 tracks in the album, where the first 14 songs are vocal tracks and the rest is the original score. Have a listen to the two tracks below for a feel of what’s coming to the big screen.

Mary Poppins Returns follows the magical nanny as she pays a visit to the Banks siblings and helps Michael’s children through a difficult time. See the trailer below and get ready to tap your feet to all the songs when the movie premieres this Christmas in Malaysia.
