How you can make a difference with ‘Alphabet City: Sentul ABC’

Why Sentul? Because Sentul is home to the Dignity For Children Foundation, a foundation that strives to break the cycle of poverty through quality, holistic education. They provide education programmes and vocational trainings to children via a one-stop community-learning centre.

A joint effort by Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur, the Dignity foundation, letterpress printing craftsmen from The Alphabet Press and paper merchant Fine Paper Takeo sees the birth of Alphabet City: Sentul ABC—a project that aims to bring education to underprivileged children, while paying homage to Sentul’s dynamic heritage.

Alphabet City: Sentul ABC’s handcrafted notebooks double as ABC teaching flash cards. Ranging from A to Z, each notebook features a letter and its corresponding cultural factoids, including things, people and places that can be found in Sentul. All illustrations are done by local illustrator Saimen Lee, and translated by The Alphabet Press’ letterpress craftsmanship onto high quality imported paper stock from Fine Paper Takeo. Proceeds from the sales of these notebooks will contribute to Dignity’s effort.

Alphabet City: Sentul ABC notebooks (RM14) are available at Project B café (15-G Jalan 11/48A, Sentul Raya Boulevard 51000 KL) and online (from 6 April onwards) at The Alphabet Press website. For more information, visit www.projectsentul.com.
