La Fura dels Baus to headline Singapore River Festival 2015

This year, Singapore River One brings La Fura dels Baus to celebrate the nation’s golden jubilee with an exceptional performance at the Singapore River Festival. Founded in 1979, the performance company is internationally known for their ingenious large-scale productions, especially at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

This year, La Fura dels Baus will be gracing the annual festival with a routine that celebrates Singapore’s unique story and SG50, with one of the highlights being a choreographed aerial routine—’Human Net’, which emphasizes the unions and collaborative efforts that have gone into bringing the nation to where it is today.  In addition to its line-up of talented dancers and musicans, aerialists will be suspended over the Singapore River, tying in with this year’s festival theme— ‘River Stories’.

Taking place from 23-25 October 2015, the festival promises to be a fun-filled weekend of exciting performances, music, food, interactive exhibitions and much more. Visitors will be given the opportunity to witness the enthralling performance at 8:00pm and 9:30pm each night at Riverside Point, Clarke Quay.

In addition to La Fura dels Baus, other highlights of the festival include Urban Artery—a 10-day outdoor alley art exhibition displaying artworks from 20 local and international artists, as well as the Riverside Markers Market— an urban pop-up event that unites musicians, chefs and local creatives.
