‘Here We Are’: Burberry to stage major photography exhibition at new show space

Moving away from Maker’s House—where the brand showcased its past two collections—Burberry is set to showcase its September collection at the Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell this Saturday, 16 September. Two days later, the 18th-century former courthouse will be open to public as it hosts ‘Here We Are’, a major photography exhibition by Burberry that highlights the British way of life and character.

Running from 18 September to 1 October 2017, ‘Here We Are’ is curated by the brand’s Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, and Lucy Kumara Moore, writer, curator and Director of Claire de Rouen, an independent fashion and photography bookshop located at Charing Cross Road. It will showcase the work of over 30 of the 20th century’s best social and documentary photographers.

Highlights of the exhibition include never-before-seen prints by Shirley Baker and Ken Russell, Charlie Phillips’ photographs of his local Notting Hill community, and a special presentation of over 70 photographs by Alasdair McLellan, who also co-curated the exhibition.
