Alessandro Michele continues to work his magical touch with Gucci. In his latest project, the designer reimagines the Gucci Museo—which first opened in the historical Palazzo della Mercanzia in 2011—and turned it into Gucci Garden, a creative hub that is an eclectic blend of the brand’s heritage, retail space, memorabilia and contemporary art.
Why the name Gucci Garden? Consider it a living space to reflect the evolving aesthetic and philosophy of Gucci. Michele explains: “The garden is real, but it belongs above all to the mind, populated with plants and animals: like the snake, which slips in everywhere, and in a sense, symbolises a perpetual beginning and a perpetual return.”
On the ground floor, one will find Gucci Osteria, a restaurant headed by renown chef Massimo Bottura, and a retail space that features exclusive ready-to-wear, accessories and décor, including silk bomber jackets with the Gucci Garden Gothic script. Meanwhile the Gucci Garden Galleria takes over the first and second floor, spanning different themes where contemporary work is displayed alongside vintage pieces. The Guccification room, for example, puts the iconic double G logo in the spotlight, following the transformation from its early days to the recent collaboration with GucciGhost.

Gucci Garden is located at Palazzo della Mercanzia, Florence. Entrance fee to the Gucci Garden Galleria is 8 euros—50% of the ticket sale will be donated to support restoration projects in the city of Florence.
