3. KakiRepair at Me.reka Makerspace @ Publika, 2pm – 5pm, 25 May 2019

We all talk a lot about sustainability, reducing wastage and so on; but more can be done beyond just recycling paper waste and proudly whipping out a metal straw. How often do we discard a broken item without even considering to try and fix it first? If you’re interested in picking up a new skill and saving yourself some moolah from buying a brand new item because your old one is spoilt—this is the place to go.

Mind you, these kind people aren’t going to fix it for you. They’re going to help you learn what’s necessary—be it tools, guidance, or references—to give an item a second chance at life. Example of items you can bring along/learn: electrical appliances (hair dryer, iron, table fan, vacuum cleaner, etc), fabric items (clothes, curtain, etc) and small pieces of wooden or metal furniture.

It’s free but donations are welcomed to help support the movement. For more info, visit the website.
