1. Chinese New Year workshops at Robinsons The Gardens Mall, 12 Jan 2019

Robinsons is starting the CNY festivities beginning 10 – 13 January 2019 with a special Cardmembers Preview Sale but for everyone else, fret not, as there’ll also be several activities for everyone in the family. At Robinsons The Gardens Mall, the kids can take part in a Chinese Opera Puppet Workshop (3pm to 5pm) while the adults can check out the Kitchen Aid Baking Demo (12pm). 2. WhupWhup’s 3rd Birthday Bash! at Subang Jaya, 11am – 9.30pm, 12 & 13 Jan 2019

To celebrate their third anniversary, WhupWhup is whipping up a RM3 Bar where desserts, pastas and other selected dishes will be going for only RM3 each. You can even bring along a container for takeaways.

3. Chinese New Year Cocktail Twist at Yu by ruyi @ The Gardens Mall, 7pm – 10.30pm, 12 Jan 2019

Enjoy a tantalising menu of bespoke cocktails by international guest mixologist Tim Clark that are designed to pair with traditional celebratory dishes by Yu. Yes, there’ll be yee sang as well.

4. Hope Bazaar at Pusat Kreatif Kanak-Kanak Tuanku Bainun @ TTDI, 11am – 5pm, 12 Jan 2019

As a refugee community school, the Rohingya Refugee Education Centre is constantly facing financial struggles. As a new school year begins, why not help them help others through this fundraiser? There’ll be sustainable merchandise (anyone looking for reusable straws, facial rounds and more?), homemade food and drink items, pre-loved goods and artisanal products for sale and all of the partnering vendors will be donating a minimum of 20 per cent from their proceeds to the school.

6. Attempt the “Lady and the Tramp’s Spaghetti Meatball Challenge” at Gastro Sentral @ Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur, till 31 March 2019

From the recent Mary Poppins Returns to the upcoming The Lion King live adaptation, there seems to be a trend of revisiting Disney classics. Jumping on that bandwagon is Le Meridien KL with a challenge inspired by that iconic moment in Lady and the Tramp.

If you and your partner are fans of pasta and fast eaters too, you might be up for the “Lady and the Tramp’s Spaghetti Meatball Challenge”. Featuring 1.5kg of Spaghetti Aglio Olio, 30 pieces of meatballs, homemade fresh tomato and basil sauce and a dozen garlic bread, any couple who can finish it all within 30 minutes will essentially win that meal for free. Fail and they’ll have to pay RM158 nett per portion. Of course, you can also dine leisurely and order it at RM180 nett for the sharing portion.

7. Get your tickets for Feel Good Giving by Lululemon Kuala Lumpur, happening on 19 Jan 2019

In this day and age, mental health is just as important as our physical wellbeing; and so Lululemon KL is organising this event to help create awareness and raise funds for Befrienders. Your support will also give you: A 90-minute yoga and meditation session led by yoga therapist Tissie Chan and Lululemon ambassador Sandra Woo at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental.
