Take a deep breath, the weekend is finally here. It’s a special one for us because we’ll be celebrating Malaysia Day and there are plenty of events that will allow you to deep dive into our culture. 

 

1. GET ON BOARD KERETAPI SARONG

Celebrate Malaysia Day with Keretapi Sarong and come dressed up in your sarongs and traditional attire! Be prepared for a day of cultural exploration and uncover the beauty of Malaysian sarong. The celebration begins as soon as you step into the train and it only gets better once you reach the final destination, where performances and plenty of traditional activities await you.

3. SHOP AT GUNG’S COMMONLY UNCOMMON POP-UP

4. DISCOVER THE HIDDEN OASIS, HSS POCKET PARK

Where: HSS Pocket Park, Jalan Tun HS Lee

When: 16 September 2023, 11am – 3pm

Downtown Kuala Lumpur has seen many changes over the years, from exciting new cafes to bars and hotels that redefine the urban experience. HSS Pocket Park is a lush oasis that’s nestled within a cluster of pre-war shophouses known as High Street Studios (HSS). This hidden green spot is an area where people can come to take a break from the bustle of the city. 5. EXPLORE THE KLANG RIVER FESTIVAL

Where: The festival is held in multiple locations 

When: 8 – 24 September 2023 

Klang River Festival (KRF) is an annual open festival that brings together local communities to share knowledge on heritage, culture, and identity. The festival recognises the ever-changing nature of the locales surrounding the river and highlights the river as an important source of transportation, fresh water, food, agriculture, and religious rituals. Explore a variety of activities at the festival—from insightful sessions with town planners and researchers to workshops and creative installations, KRF is an eye-opening experience for all.

6. DIVE DEEP INTO ARTS AT THE WANGSA EXHIBITION BY GALERI PRIMA
