1. Dutch Mussel Festival at Southern Rock Seafood, 12pm – 10pm, 25 August 2019

This Sunday, celebrate the start of the Dutch Mussel season by feasting on blue mussels air flown from Natural Holland in Yerseke. The programme of the day includes poetry by Cat Brogan, standup comedy by Adrianna Aye, as well as the Shuck and Suck Challenge (quite self-explanatory). Entry is currently priced at RM35 per person.

2. Lokal Fashion Art Market at GMBB KL, 11am – 8pm, 24 & 25 August 2019

It’s time to celebrate local talents and this weekend is the perfect period to do so. Browse and explore over 20 Malaysian brands through a fashion show, foodtrucks, and workshops.

3. Guest Bartender Series Featuring Shirmy Chan at Bar Shake, 8pm – 12am, 24 August 2019

Bar Shake’s Guest Collaboration Series is back and this time, 61 Monarchy’s Shirmy Chan will be taking over on Saturday. A line-up of Japanese-inspired drinks will be unveiled—each priced at RM50. Expect artisanal cocktails such as Sakurao Gin, distilled using Hiroshima-grown botanicals, and Brickfields, whisky-based drink with jasmine water.

4. Eat Drink Play: Volume Two at Rex KL, 3pm – 11pm, 24 & 25 August 2019

5. Yue Garden at Yuespace KL, 12pm – 8pm, 24 & 25 August 2019

This event will showcase artworks and handcrafts, including handmade concrete designs by Dusty Noah, botanical bath and body products by Nooi Naturals, and unique eyewear by Pott Glasses. Admission is free and for everyone.

6. Binge watch ‘Love Alarm’ on Netflix, any time, anywhere

This South Korean series—premiering 23 August 2019—stars Kim So Hyun, Song Kang, and Jung Ga Ram. It revolves around an app which lets users know if anyone around has romantic feelings for them. There will be eight episodes.

7. A Love Once Lost Exhibition at The Bindery, APW Bangsar, 10am – 7pm, 24 & 25 August 2019

This charity project features 13 series of images revolving around emotions that the artist, Daniel Adams, felt after the passing of his mother in 2017. There will be 39 pieces of work on show and 50 percent of profits will go to Cancer Research Malaysia.
