Now in Malaysia: New luxury cars from Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Tesla

As we all know by now, the automotive industry never sleeps. Despite having gone through massive changes throughout the years, it’s been fascinating to witness luxury car manufacturers shifting their focus to hybrid and all-electric drivetrains even though the traditional internal combustion engine is still very much a standard. With that said, ahead are the new luxury car launches from Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Tesla that have recently debuted in Malaysia.

Aston Martin DB12

Malaysia, meet the world’s first Super Tourer—the Aston Martin DB12. Launched on our shores on 28 July, the arrival of this striking all-new model comes in conjunction with the brand’s monumental 110th anniversary as well as the DB line’s 75th anniversary. Under its sleek hood, the DB12 boasts a 4.0-litre Twin-Turbo V8 engine that has been further tuned by Aston Martin engineers to deliver 680PS at 6,000RPM and 800Nm in a wide torque band. This signals an impressive 34 per cent increase in performance compared with the outgoing Aston Martin DB11. With power delivered to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, the DB12 goes from 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds, all the way to a top speed of 325km/h.

Design-wise, the DB12 features widened front and rear ends to accentuate the iconic Aston Martin grille for maximum presence. The all-new front end is flanked by LED headlights with distinctive daytime running lamp (DRL) signatures. Elsewhere, 21-inch forged alloy wheels complete its bold and assertive design, available in three design variations and a variety of colours and finishes.

Other standout features include marque’s next-generation infotainment system that is entirely bespoke, designed and developed in-house by Aston Martin for the first time ever. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ connectivity via a 10.25-inch high-resolution touchscreen display, supported by an 11-speaker audio system as standard. Audiophiles may also opt for an upgrade to a 15-speaker, 1,170W surround sound system developed in collaboration with Bowers & Wilkins.

Price: From RM1,088,000 excluding duties, taxes, options and customisation

The Aston Martin DB12 is now available for viewing and booking in Malaysia through Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur, with an extended warranty offering up to 20 years of coverage.
