Located just outside of Chinatown and opposite the upcoming Four Points by Sheraton, the Asian fusion restaurant serves sharing plates, wines, and hand crafted cocktails. Wildflowers is operated by the team behind Merchant’s Lane and housed within a beautiful, leafy venue. Dishes to try include assam unagi with sushi rice, seared salmon with tom yum sauce, lamb shoulder Irish stew with Hainanese bread, and beef brisket Bourguignon stew with Shao Xing wine. Into cocktails? You’re in luck—Mugunghwa (soju, elderflower, and lemonade soda) and Spirit of Borneo (tuak, violet liqueur, and honey) are some of the concoctions you might want to check out while you’re there.

3. Happy Stan, Damansara Heights
This is where you go for both coffee and cocktails. Yes, you read that right. A project by VCR, this is a cafe for you to relax over a cup of coffee and other beverages (as well as pastries). This is the first cafe bar in Kuala Lumpur and you are allowed to choose any kind of spirits to pair with a tonic water. Fun fact: Stan is the short name for Stanton Delaplane—a writer, who introduced Irish Coffee to Buena Vista cafe’s owner in the United States in 1952.

5. SPG by Bijan, Bukit Ceylon
The first thing to take note—Sarong Party Girl. That’s what SPG stands for. The establishment is a modern Malaysian tapas and grill bar. Walk into the space and you will notice Nyonya tiles and retro furniture decked out in a variety of colours. Try the Ah Ran Sini (deep-fried nasi lemak rice balls and ikan bilis mayo), Roti Jala Tiffin (lace pancakes, mango salad and chicken curry), as well as Lidah & Sambal (pan-seared ox tongue with sambal hitam). You can also opt for the Seafood Platter that comes with grilled tiger prawns, calamari, stingray, and mussels cooked in sambal kemangi. This restaurant-cum-cafe is housed in a rattan- and hard-wood-filled bungalow space. Its interior features leafy and tropical designs (which seems to be a much-needed trend in KL these days) and furnishings handmade by Balinese craftsmen. Enjoy kaya made with duck egg and Sarawak pepper to go with your toast or roastmary-stuffed roast spring chicken as well as Laksa Pesto Pasta—fettucine with laksa paste, clams, prawns, and calamari. 7. Playte, Damansara Heights
The open kitchen concept here offers you a contemporary dining experience. Come here for playful twists on Asian gastronomic flavours. Starters here include quail with Vadouvan spice, bario rice, and burnt eggplant purée as well as squid with citrus jam, kaffir lime leaves, and bamboo shoot. As for the mains, feast on threadfin with spiced tomato dashi, barley, and Thai basil or indulge in wagyu rump cap with salt baked jicama and laksa leaves.
