Newly opened in mid-April, The Lemon Tree welcomes visitors for brunch and coffee in its serene space nestled within the verdant surrounds of Tropicana, Menara Lien Hoe. Set inside a conservatory, the Victorian-inspired cafe is characterised by high-glass windows complete with iron grills and a dome-shaped sunroof allowing ample sunlight in to illuminate the 1,700-square foot space. An unmistakable lemon tree stands majestically at the centre, whilst bright yellow furniture accentuates a sunny setting evocative of a summer in Europe. Come for fresh artisanal pastries, brunch favourites, and specialty coffee and tea; stay for the warm ambiance.

2. Aburii

Aburii makes its mark as the latest Japanese restaurant in TTDI, offering sushi, yakiniku, and contemporary omakase. Design-wise, this hip new spot looks far from the traditional Japanese establishments you may be familiar with. For starters, the space features an all-black exterior with two neon-lit samurai foxes greeting visitors at the entrance. The katana-armed foxes reappear on a poster inside the modern space, alongside Bored Apes plastered on the walls. There are yakiniku rooms for fans of grilled dishes, as well as a sashimi bar for those who prefer sushi or opt for the omakase experience.

The menu is equally playful, combining Mexican and Asian influences to offer a colourful variety of tacos, rice bowls, pastas, and sharing plates with a local twist. Dessert lovers have plenty of options to indulge with a cup of coffee or matcha too, including waffles and cakes.
