Where to eat this month: A garden to table restaurant, a cafe from a bygone era and more

 

1. December Eighteen, Bandar Sunway

December Eighteen Sunway exterior

Food. Coffee. Art. Stationery. This cafe is reminiscent of a bygone era. Browse collectible antiques while you wait for your butter kaya toast and orange-marinated chicken. There is also a jukebox (that actually plays music) to immerse yourself away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

2. Sweet Escape by Inside Scoop, TTDI

This is where you go for guilt-free ice cream catered to different dietary requirements (sugar-free, alternative sugar, and vegan-friendly). According to Inside Scoop, the new parlour offers a range of kurang manis servings. Options include avocado, kefir, chrysanthemum, and genmai.

3. The Farm Foodcraft, Bangsar South

The Farm Foodcraft Nasi Kerabu

Most of the ingredients used in the dishes offered here are grown in their own urban farm. As for ingredients they can't grow themselves, they're sourced from local vendors and farmers. Their vision—a return to healthy living. Come here for the garden-to-plate concept and you get to choose from a wide variety options, including crab risotto, curry beef lasagna, and kuih gulung.

4. Sunday Coffee and Cakes, Taman Bukit Indah

No, you don't have to wait until Sunday to visit this spot. In fact, its coffee and cakes are yours to devour any time, any day of the week. The interior of the cafe is minimally-designed yet packs a punch with its combination of colours a la Scandinavia. What to get? Try the cheese terrine cake or the Tamagoyaki Sando (shown above).
