The Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching again! Just a little refresher—the festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. While you scratch your head in dilemma wondering where and what mooncakes to get, we have compiled a list for you.

1. Hilton Kuala Lumpur

CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MOONCAKES

Hilton Kuala Lumpur’s mooncake series—Royal Midnight—appreciates the fine art of simplicity and serves as a tribute to the beauty of traditions. Doubling as a jewellery case, the mooncake box features a lunar medallion and silver embroidered clouds on a navy blue sheen fabric. This year, Chynna has created the Bulgarian Blush, comprising of custard cream cheese, Bulgarian Rose petal Jam and pine nuts, and enclosed in a delicate baby pink snow skin.

Other options include the likes of Heavenly Gold (Snow Skin with Pure Premium Musang King Durian); Blue Moon (Snow Skin Amaretto Lotus Paste with Blueberry Cheese Feuillantine); as well as Baked White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk.

THE FLORAL INDULGENCE

To honour Mid-Autumn Festival this year, the hotel have put together series of collections of its mooncake boxes—combining vibrant Fuchsia and refreshing Tiffany Blue. Designed for the special occasion, the three series are Peony, Plum Blossom, and Tiffany Blossom.

Each box comes with four mooncakes—Pure Lotus Paste, White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, Baked Pandan Paste with Single Yolk, and Bakes Red Bean Paste.

Made with the special Mandarin Oriental recipe, the selection of mooncakes include the likes of Baked Durian with Melon Seeds; Snow Skin Salted Egg Custard Paste; Malaysian Single Origin Dark Chocolate; Snow Skin Musang King Durian; Baked Golden Pandan Flavour with Single Egg Yolk; as well as Red Berry Chocolate. The Master Chef Gift box—resembling a lantern—consists of eight pieces of Pandan Lotus Paste with Black Sesame and Bird’s Nest whereas the Premium Gift Box has six pieces of Mini Golden Ping Pei Musang King Durian.
