Need some Zoom-friendly fashion inspo? Rock these SS21 trends that are already in your closet

Back to MCO, back to Zoom life. After lounging in sweatpants for the past few lockdowns, we reckon it’s time to give your loungewear a lil’ break this round and shower the rest of your wardrobe with some well-deserved lovin’. From monochrome hues to oversized button-down shirts, we’re shining the spotlight on the best Spring/Summer 2021 trends that you already own.

Check them out below:

Oversized button-down shirts

No longer just a borrowed-from-the-boys trend, XXL shirtings are now a wardrobe must-have, and the Spring/Summer 2021 looks reinforced that. Feel free to go pantless waist-down.

Bralettes

Bralettes may not be work-appropriate IRL, but judging how Zoom calls only show your outfit from the midriff-up, there are a few ways to go about it. Our suggestion? Throw on an oversized blazer or a semi-sheer top, or layer it over a shirt or a shirt dress.

Pastel colours

“Lookin’ good enough to eat…” Take cue from Blackpink and Selena Gomez’s hit song and don delectable pastel hues that’ll perk up your mood. From buttercup yellow and minty green to baby pink and pretty lavender, we love them all.

Black and white

Alternatively, if you’re on team monochrome, a black-and-white theme can also pack a punch. Balmain, Loewe, Maison Margiela, and Chanel are some of our top style inspo.

Sequins

For the lovers of all things sparkly, let your work calls be your time to shine. The Spring/Summer 2021 looks from Proenza Schouler, Celine, and Louis Vuitton proved that sequins can be daytime-appropriate, though there’s no harm in dressing up and going full-Disco.

Wide-leg trousers

Comfort is key when it comes to our #wfhfits. If sweatpants are out of the question, flared trousers are probably the next best thing. Whether you’re pairing it with a cami top, a T-shirt, or a blazer-bralette combo, the bottom’s versatility knows no bounds.

Back cut-outs

Your Zoom outfit may have to be business on top, but who says it can’t be a party at the back too? The open-back dresses from Givenchy, Maximilian, and Victoria Beckham proved that showing skin can look equally chic too.

Stripes

From candy to awning stripes, the classic print come in different shape and form this season, but regardless of your pick, they’re fail-proof.

Maxi dresses

There’s no denying that dressing up during a lockdown can make you feel happy and empowered, and here’s a trend that’s dressy yet equally comfortable to lounge in: floor-grazing, floaty maxi dresses. Smooth and airy, the chiffon material is perfect for our tropical heat.

Baggy jeans

Aside from trousers, our favourite jeans are also trending in an oversized silhouette this season, and washes range from the classic blues to striking yellows. Newsflash: they’re Gen-Z approved.
