Fashion shows don’t just happen on the runway; it takes place all over the streets too. With Pre-Fall 2019 season in full swing, we’re shifting our gaze to the sidewalks because, well, no one parades ready-to-wear realness better than our favourite fashion girls (especially when they can slay boiler suits and power shoulders #likeaboss). Aside from that, we can always count on these street style snaps for a good indication of hot-right-now trends that should be on everyone’s radar. Below, the top three trends we’ve spotted that are now on our fashion moodboard.
Oversized tailoring

Fitted is out, and oversized is in—this is the silhouette of the season when it comes to tailoring, whether worn on its own or with matching separates. From big boxy blazers to billowy trousers, see how these fashion VIPs are rocking it according to their style. We love how Dua Lipa pairs her all-white look with a light yellow bralet to flaunt some skin.
Feathers

The great thing about feathers? It’s up to you how you’d like to dial up the drama. Some like it as a humble trimming to their sleeves, skirt, or shoes, while others prefer going OTT by having it peppered all over their look. No matter your preference, you’ll turn heads, for sure. If you’re not too sure about the trend, test the waters with fringed details first.
Gemstone hues

Seen at: Oscar de la Renta and Givenchy
This rich colour palette has been spotted particularly on glossy fabrics like satin or silk. Ranging from softer shades to bolder tones, we’re seeing a rainbow of regal gemstone hues—amethyst, emerald, topaz, rose quartz and more—that are bound to be a mood-lifter. Look 5’s colourblock ensemble proved just that.
