The reign of Queen Bey: 7 of her greatest moments

Skyrocketing career aside, this multi-award winning singer/song-writer, dancer, actress, philanthropist, mother and feminist has not only topped Time magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People’ list and been voted as one of Forbes’ most powerful women, but has also landed the cover of Vogue’s September issue this year. To celebrate 34 years of Beyoncé’s fabulous existence, we’ve selected 7 of her very best #QueenBey moments:

#7: Dreamgirls

Despite having already acted in several movies including Austin Powers in Goldmember and The Pink Panther movie, Beyoncé made her presence in the film industry far more prominent with her portrayal of Deena Jones in the musical drama film Dreamgirls

#6: Presidential inaugural ball 2009

To mark a page in American history, Beyoncé sang for President Obama and his wife’s first dance, serenading everyone with a heart-stirring rendition of Etta James’ “At Last”.

#5: Met Gala 2015

At this year’s Met Gala, themed ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’, Beyoncé flaunted her curves in a sheer embellished gown by Givenchy. With a high pony-tail and a bucket full of flair, Queen Bey stole the spotlight from other celebrities who attempted to don the ‘sheer’ look.

#4: Pregnancy announcement at the 2011 VMAs

To end her incredible performance of “Love on top”, Beyoncé stunned us all by unbuttoning her blazer to reveal her baby bump

#3: National Anthem at SuperBowl 2013 press conference

Beyoncé came clean and admitted that due to a lack of rehearsal time, she lip-synced the national anthem at President Obama’s inauguration day. Following this, she left all the reporters speechless by performing the anthem on the spot before asking with a cheeky smile “any questions?”.

#2: The release of her fifth album

On 13 December 2013, Beyoncé treated her fans to an early Christmas present by releasing her surprise self-titled visual album comprising of 14 tracks and short films, including singles “Drunk in love” and “Flawless”.

#1: VMAs 2009

Although Beyoncé was awarded ‘Video of the Year’ for her ground-breaking music video “Single Ladies (Put a ring on it)”, she graciously gave Taylor Swift the spotlight during her acceptance speech following the infamous Kanye incident.

And of course who can ever forget when Beyoncé reminded everyone that she is truly irreplaceable with her live performance of her award-winning video.
