Moncler will be discontinuing its Gamme Rouge and Gamme Bleu lines

Known for its luxury puffer jackets, Italian brand Moncler has announced its decision to discontinue its Moncler Gamme Rouge and Moncler Gamme Bleu sub-lines, and their creative directors, who are Giambattista Valli and Thom Browne respectively will also be leaving to focus on their own brands. “Both Giambattista and Thom agreed with me that Moncler had to move on towards new challenges. It has been a true honour for me to have worked with such unique talents and I am enormously grateful to Giambattista and Thom for their extraordinary work at Moncler. I will for sure miss both a lot”, says Remo Ruffini, president and chief executive officer of Moncler.

Both Rogue and Bleu lines will no longer be showing on the catwalk (the previous Spring/Summer 2018 season will be its last), but while no concrete plans have been revealed so far, the move no doubt indicates the brand’s desire to focus more on immediacy, and to offer its customers—especially its younger clients—more limited and exclusive capsule collections. Moncler raked in a revenue of one million euros last year, and its shares are up by almost 40 per cent this year.
