In the works: Gucci capsule collection for Net-A-Porter

Just when you thought Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele couldn’t shake things up enough at the renowned fashion house (after deciding to go coed next season), he has partnered up with Net-A-Porter to create a one-time, 20-piece collection of ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories.

Dropping this May 12 on Net-A-Porter and Gucci, this capsule collection is the first that Michele has done as the creative director of Gucci, and is in line with Net-A-Porter’s strategy to break out emerging talents and superbrands on the site. The online luxury retailer previously collaborated with Chloé, Levi’s, J.W. Anderson, Proenza Schouler, Topshop Unique and Dolce&Gabbana on exclusive capsule collections.

Gucci fans can look forward to Michele’s signature boho-luxe floral aesthetic in the form of a 19th-century tapestry inspired rose print emblazoned on blouses, cashmere and merino wool pieces, and accessories. Gucci’s iconic heron print has also been reinvented by Michele onto a Neoprene sweatshirt. As far as prices go, the collection starts at $270 for a printed iPhone 6 case to $5,300 for an appliquéd silk-blend organza gown. Worth it? We think so, especially when it’s anything by Michele.
