5 Easy costumes that you can totally rewear after Halloween

If the idea of Halloween costumes read as a waste of money in your books, today’s guide to rewearing your costume is up your alley. Why break the bank for a one-off costume that you aren’t going to rewear next year when you can actually recycle these fashionable garb for everyday wear? Below, we explore how you can make the most out of your costume based on five popular female TV characters:

Dolores Abernathy of Westworld

Dolores’ vintage, Western-leaning blue dress is easy to mimic—anything with a scoop/low neckline and a full skirt will work in your favour. We suggest this denim midi dress from Co that encapsulates the same aesthetic—all you need to do is layer a long-sleeve top of the same colour beneath it, wear a waist-cinching, brown leather belt, put on your best Southern accent and you’re good to go. For everyday wear, pull it off sans belt and top, and pair it with summer slides or espadrilles for a casual weekend out.

Eleven of Stranger Things

Eleven is probably this year’s most popular Halloween costume inspiration (based on the number of times her image has been saved on Pinterest.) And it’s not difficult to see why—all you need is a smocked pink dress, a blonde wing, knee-high sports socks and sneakers. We like this knitted mini dress from Alaia that you can definitely rewear after Halloween. Wearable and in our favourite shade of dusty pink, style it with sneakers (but maybe without the socks) for a street-chic countenance.

Daenerys Targaryen of Game of Thrones

If there’s one badass female character you’d like to rep this Halloween, the Khaleesi is a sure-fire choice (next to Wonder Woman). While caped gowns and Grecian frocks make the bulwark of her outfits, why not take on a simpler option by way of this Balmain structured eyelet top that you can rewear after Halloween? Despite how cool her Season 7 outfit is (caped coat with a matching cloak), its rewear factor is losing out to this edgy piece.

Veronica Lodge of Riverdale

Touted as the Blair Waldorf of Riverdale, Veronica Lodge’s aesthetic is rich-girl chic with a focus on feminine details. Her wardrobe palette is dark, yet you can expect a posh elements by way of lace, pearls and fitted silhouettes. All you need to emulate her look is a string of pearls around your neck—something she never goes without. Try this faux pearl, gold-tone and embroidered grosgrain necklace from Gucci with a black fitted top and a pencil skirt. Switch it up on a regular day by wearing the necklace with the grosgrain side on the front for an unpredictable twist.

Kimmy Schmidt of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

It’s not hard to love Ellie Kemper’s bright-eyed character in Netflix’s The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Bring on a chipper attitude for Halloween to best impersonate her, and if you can’t seem to find anything bright/floral/’90s in your closet, we recommend this yellow embellished sleeve detail cardigan from Attico. All you need now is a dash of confidence and you’re ready to take on the night.
