Fendi relaunches its iconic FF logo with a capsule collection

Did you know that Fendi’s notable FF logo stands for ‘fun fur’? Designed by Karl Lagerfeld back in 1965, the logo was a nod to the house’s fur expertise and innovation, evolving through time in the form of allover fabric in Fendi’s iconic tobacco-and-black hues to graphic and geometric reinterpretations circa the ’90s and early ’00s.

More than 50 years later, Fendi is riding high on the logomania trendwagon with a relaunch of the FF logo via a brand new capsule collection, tapping into the street-chic millennial who isn’t afraid to make a statement. The collection encompasses women’s ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories — all emblazoned with the unique, archival squared version of the FF logo. Take your pick from a range of outerwear silhouettes, including shearling bombers and lightweight transparent raincoats with graphic allover patterns; or up the ante with luxe velvet jacquard pieces and sophisticated pajama suits.

Cool weather options run the gamut from cashmere knitwear to hoodies, and classic pieces include white cotton shirts, cotton gabardine pencil skirts (spot the cuffs and elastic waistbands with the FF logo). Worth copping are Fendi’s iconic bags — the Kan I, Peekaboo, and Runaway — that are embellished with logo-fied velvet inserts, all of which you can customise with the Strap You and Mini Strap You detachable straps. Not forgetting, a handful of footwear designs that will turn heads with every step you take — the Rockoko sneakers and booties.

Fendi’s Capsule Collection will be available at a worldwide preview on Net-A-Porter from 13 April; and in selected boutiques and online from 14 May, 2018. The Net-A-Porter exclusives include two black and white FF logo knitwear and cotton tops, a tobacco silk pajama suit together with the black and white Runaway leather bag, white Rockopop sneakers and a pair of mink and velvet carpet-like slippers.
