It has been three years since we saw (and were obsessed over) then-15 year-old Elle Fanning’s first Miu Miu feature. One of the four young actresses chosen to front the Italian luxury brand’s Spring/Summer 2014 campaign, and a perfect face for the House, it is no surprise that they are reunited to collaborate once again. This time, the Neon Demon star is joined by models, Lara Stone, Karen Elson, and Carolyn Murphy, together with fresh-faced talents, Elsa Brisinger, Birgit Kos, Ellen Rose, Mayowa Nicholas and Sonia Ben Ammar.
Lensed by renowned photographer, Alasdair McLellan, in Point Dume, California, the Spring 2017 campaign, “Suddenly Next Summer” is reminiscent of Beach Blanket Bingo. Just like the 1965 beach party film, Fanning and the models are all decked in vibrant-hued, retro swimwear. But because this is a Miu Miu campaign, that can’t be all—the stylish beach squad is also styled in the House’s SS17 offering including graphic winter coats, sculptural swim hats and even posed with mini crocodile-clad purses on the beach. From sunbathing to taking a dip in the ocean, the ad campaign conjures up a postcard dream, making us wish we were on a summer beach holiday.
