CFDA Fashion Awards 2019: Winners and best dressed of the night

Three months after the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) released its list of nominees and award recipient of the year, the event was finally held—for the second year in a row—at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. As usual, you can expect the heavyweights in the fashion industry—from designers to top models to A-list celebrities—to turn up looking their best on one of fashion’s biggest nights (aside from the Met Gala). On our best dressed list this year? Gigi Hadid, who slayed in her skirt-meets-pants Off-White look; Ashley Graham who radiated old-school glamour in Christian Siriano; and Amber Valletta in a two-tone Alexander McQueen pantsuit.

Some of the more notable award recipients of the night include: Jennifer Lopez who was honoured this year with the prestigious CFDA Fashion Icon Award for her “longstanding and global impact on fashion”; Barbie (yes, you read that right) who received the Board of Directors’ Tribute for her “indelible mark on society”; and Bob Mackie, the designer behind all of Cher’s tour costumes, who was awarded the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
