If there’s any proof that Raf Simons is working wonders at Calvin Klein, all you need to do is take a glance through the CK Calvin Klein Autumn/Winter 2018 collection for both men and women. While he has previously injected Americana influences into past collections at the brand, the recent lineup boasts a remixed aesthetic for multiple personas—whether you’re looking for a new-age corporate uniform, or on-trend outerwear with pops of colour to make a statement.

Simons is moving past singular identities this season, reimagining sartorial archetypes to create new and unconventional narratives. As expected, Americana inspiration is rife here, from rodeo soutache embroidery to floral-check mix reminiscent of prairie dresses and Western shirts. But womenswear take a turn for the chic with sharp, formal suits and classic wool coats taking centre stage—don’t miss a few vivid-hued pieces that sport a glamorous, vinyl sheen.

Naturally, the Americana sentiment has spilled over to menswear. The collection references the youth culture of college, with utilitarian garb thrown in for good measure. Think 90s club kids but more contemporary and less obnoxious. What we love: striped sweatshirts, tracksuit-inspired looks in equally bold pops of colour, army trench coats to elevate your ensemble (there’s one in vinyl too), and aviator jackets that you can’t go wrong with.
