Burberry’s live Snapchat ad campaign of its SS16 collection

Burberry’s been knocking it out of the digital ballpark lately with campaigns such as its first ever SS16 Snapchat Show, their Apple Music channel launch, and an in-platform purchasing and live streaming on LINE Japan and Kakao Korea.

 

Recently, October 22 saw its first live ad campaign through Snapchat, where the British luxury brand gave its Snapchat followers an unprecedented behind-the-scenes view of its Spring Summer 2016 campaign. Shot by renowned photographer Mario Testino, the full campaign and shoot were spotted on Burberry Snapchat, with the Burberry Family members including Ruth Bell, Eliza Fairbanks, Hayett Belarbi McCarthy and Misha Hart sporting key looks from the brand’s Functionregalia collection, first introduced in September 2015.

 

“We wanted to play with the traditional format of an advertising campaign to make it much more immediate and accessible just as we did with our runway show last month,” says Burberry CEO Christopher Bailey. “Creatively this is incredibly exciting as we are totally focused on capturing the energy and the rawness of the shoot and sharing it the moment it happens.”

 

Burberry’s full print campaign featuring additional cast members will be revealed in January 2016.
