Weekend street style inspo: Giovanna Battaglia

Giovanna Battaglia’s street style looks are perhaps one of the most repinned on the Pinterest boards of every budding style beginner, and for good reason. It’s one thing to be stylish, but another to possess good fashion taste while wearing many hats within the industry like how she does it, a few of them being the contributing fashion editor at W Magazine and senior fashion editor at Vogue Japan.

Here’s how you can wear tweed despite the heat:

Peer closely and you’ll find faux pearls embellished within Simone Rocha’s tweed dress, exuding a modern romantic look with its red and white check, asymmetric silhouette.

Walk a mile in Valentino Garavani’s ‘Rockstar’ pumps—its mid-high stiletto heel wouldn’t kill your feet while the neutral beige hue complements the red from your frock.

Inject a touch of whimsical like how Giovanna does it with her lip-motif bag. We might not be able to get her exact tote, which is also designed by her sister Sara Battaglia, but this red polished version from Lulu Guinness will do the trick.

Shade your peepers from the sunrays with a similar pair of sunnies like hers—18k gold-plated metal ‘Believer’ sunglasses from Dita. The beveled temples and dark grey/violet lenses make this an ultra-cool accessory to wear, adding a modern contrast to your romantic look.
