The go-to menswear-inspired get up always consists of a crisp shirt, smart blazer, black trousers, and perhaps a necktie and/or a pair of oxfords if you’re feeling like it. But fashion stylist and blogger Tina Leung has done it differently this time around by wearing a shirt over a shirt, tucked inside high-waisted trousers—pretty much nailing the edgy-meets-empowered look. Get her look here:

Begin with your wardrobe staple: a crisp white shirt such as Saint Laurent’s cotton-poplin shirt from the ‘Permanent Collection’. A relaxed silhouette that isn’t overly fitted is necessary for this look.

Have fun with layering if the weather permits it by replacing your favourite blazer with a sleek black shirt from The Row. The key is to gently tug up the sleeves so that the cuffs of your white shirt beneath can be seen, hence the material wouldn’t bunch up and make you look thicker.

Wear a tie loosely around your neck like how Tina does it, with Dolce & Gabbana’s solid skinny tie

Next, a pair of chic high-waisted black pants for a #legsfordays OOTD shot, such as these bootcut leaf crepe pants from Alexander McQueen. You can choose to go with a straighter cut here, but we like a flared fit because of its flattering, retro look.

To further elongate your legs and complement the colour theme here, put on a pair of classic patent leather high heel pumps from Valentino

Can you tell that we’re crushing on Tina’s Louis Vuitton Petite Malle Epi Denim? Add a pretty pop of blue to your all-black ensemble with this bold but fun-sized accessory.
