Paris Fashion Week SS18: A guide to Parisian chic

The last leg of the SS18 Fashion Month has kicked off, and while there’s no such thing as too many street style looks, it’s refreshing to see the laidback ensembles on the sidewalk (that still have that fashionable factor); it’s prove that you don’t always have to go OTT to look your best. Here are three tips to recreate and nail their style, as shown by these ultra-chic PFW showgoers below:

Signature pieces
The classic Parisian style is never complete without the Breton stripes and tailored blazers (which were spotted in abundance at the Dior SS18 show), and these ladies give us a major style inspo on how to work them from day to night. Whether you’d want to go smart and polished like look 5 and 19, or switch things up by pairing your blazer with a sheer embroidered maxi skirt for night (look 3), these classic pieces never disappoint.

Keep it neutral…
and play it up with textures and a hint of bright colour. In Look 2, Olivia Palermo paired her camel vest and culottes with a knitted sweater, offset with a pair of coloured heels for some height boost. We’re also loving Aimee Song’s pop of suede and metallic in look 8. It’s all about juxtaposing the pieces while striking the right balance.

Hat trick
What better way to accessorise when you’re in Paris than with French berets that are all the rage now? Chriselle’s leather beret in look 7 adds that slight edge to her overall look, and her cat-eye sunglasses amped things up further. Alternatively, also spotted in abundance on the sidewalks, are the military caps that add a utilitarian vibe to their ensembles.
