Manolo Blahnik opens first standalone store in Malaysia

The first standalone Manolo Blahnik store in Malaysia has opened its doors at Kuala Lumpur’s premier shopping hub, Pavilion KL. True to the Manolo Blahnik style of immersive environments, the 100-square meter space is transformed into an abstract forest enveloped by undulating structures of dark stained bamboo.

The impressive interior is courtesy of Nick Leith-Smith Architecture + Design, a long-term collaborator for the brand’s store design. Inspired by Malaysia’s natural beauty, the sinuous installation of bamboo arranged in a repetitive vertical framework is complemented by a herringbone pattern marble floor evoking the structure of palm leaves. Canopy lighting, natural woven fabrics, touches of dark grey stone, and brass finishes echo the moody tropical aesthetic.

In the midst of the captivating setting, the shoes are arranged in flowing lines, almost floating, as they are perched atop discreetly elegant brass shelves. As always, Manolo Blahnik’s style, humour and playfulness resonate in the space that showcases the artistry of his shoes.
