Models and felines frolic in Rome for Gucci Spring 2017 campaign

Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele knows no boundaries, especially his fascination with all things bizarrely flamboyant. His love for animals resurfaces once again after the brand’s flamingo-filled Pre-Fall 2016 campaign, this time venturing into the wild with jungle cats making an appearance for Spring 2017.

British photographer Glen Luchford captures an intriguing series of visuals along the streets of Rome, featuring models wearing a mishmash of prints and embellished ensembles from the brand’s ’70s-meets-Renaissance tinged collection. Lions and tigers roamed alongside models on the streets, some taking a dip in the newly-restored Trevi Fountain. Inspired by artists and intellectuals that give the city a creative flair, Michele wanted to portray the daily lives of these characters with Rome’s popular spaces as the backdrop. This was done aptly with wildcats lounging at home watching TV with the cast, sharing a meal in a few shots as well — spot models dining al fresco and feeding grapes to giraffe at the Parco degli Acquedotti!
