Farah Khan A/W'15: Japanese art brought to life
While on a trip to Grand Palais National Galleries in Paris, creative director of namesake label Farah Khan ventured to Japanese ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai's exhibition and found inspiration for her A/W'15 collection through the iconic and most-recognized woodblock print The Great Wave Off Kanagawa. Find Khan's own interpretation of the giant wave, butterfly motifs and landscape prints properly embellished into separates worthy of a daytime look and an evening out—as early 19th century East-Asian art has never been this emboldened in the form of womenswear. With modern silhouettes veering towards a more versatile look and not merely just for a night of glitz and glamour, there's something for every lady out there who appreciates a well-crafted piece—be it a chic cape jacket, midi skirt, wrap-around kimono top or long-sleeved peplum top.
Farah Khan A/W'15 will be available in store 15 September, 2015.
