Actresses showed up in black get-ups in support of the #TimesUp organisation

The Golden Globes took a dark but impactful turn this year in support of the anti-sexual harassment initiative Time's Up—formed after allegations against multiple industry heavyweights came to light—and dominating the red carpet, are black gowns and suits that aim to make a stand. The accessory of choice? The Time's Up pins and female activists who accompanied A-listers such as Michelle Williams, Meryl Streep and Emma Stone to the event. Instead of "Who are you wearing?", the celebrities answered to "Why are you wearing black?" questions on the red carpet, steering the talk to the agenda. While there were earlier reports stating that stylists and celebrities were in a last-minute frenzy over the colour theme, they surely don't look it. The ladies turned to shiny embellishment and statement jewellery to spice up their look, while celebs such as Mandy Moore and Alison Williams couldn't resist incorporating a tinge of bold colour into the mix. Forget best dressed—everyone's a winner in our books.
