A look at all of Serena Williams’ gorgeous gowns at her fairytale wedding

Tennis ace Serena Williams and Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian’s wedding has been one of the most talked about events this year, and with a cost of over $1 million, no expense was spared for this lavish ceremony. The wedding venue at New Orleans’ Contemporary Arts Center was transformed into a Disney princess’ dream (it was rumoured to have a Beauty and the Beast theme), complete with a carousel ride, and its theme songs were played throughout.

For her walk down the aisle, she wore a custom Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown, and seated front row were A-listers such as Beyoncé, Anna Wintour and Kim Kardashian. The strapless dress featured an embellished cape and a traditional veil, complete with a voluminous tulle skirt that makes any Disney princess dreams come true. When she spoke to Vogue about her dress, Serena mentioned, “I flew to London to meet with Sarah and ended up falling in love with the ball gown silhouette, which is completely the opposite of what I ever thought I would choose for myself”.

Next, she made a stunning entrance to her reception in a Donatella Versace gown that is glamorous yet exudes that fun vibe. The feathery frock took five embroiderers and 1,500 hours to make, and according to the designer, the inspiration for the dress was Serena herself. For her last look, to prepare for her first choreographed dance with her now-husband—to Beauty and the Beast’s Tale As Old As Time (of course), Serena changed into her final dress of the night which is also from Versace. Similar to the previous look, the fitted dress with short skirt features feathery details, but post-dance, Serena ditched her heels and changed into a pair of blinged-out tennis shoes to party the night away.
