Couture in Focus: UBS House of Craft x Dior Makes Its Asian Debut

Luxury has never just been about what you see—it’s about the story behind it. The time, care, and skill that go into making something exceptional. Often, it flourishes through partnership, because great craftsmanship thrives on shared expertise and vision. 

UBS recognises this shared pursuit of excellence and celebrates it through ‘House of Craft’, a global initiative that honours creativity and mastery across various disciplines. Launched just last year in New York, the series now makes its Asian debut with UBS House of Craft x Dior in Singapore

 

 

Building on the success of its debut earlier this year, the latest chapter will unfold at the New Art Museum, part of the Whitestone Gallery, from November 21 to 23. Curated by Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, and realised through the lens of renowned artist Brigitte Niedermair, the exhibition reimagines couture through a contemporary eye.

Bringing the Maison’s storied history to life, the exhibition highlights its defining creative eras—from Christian Dior’s revolutionary vision to the six creative directors who followed: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons, and Maria Grazia Chiuri. Collectively known as ‘The Magnificent Seven’, they are joined by a special tribute to Kim Jones.

With a creative partnership spanning 12 years, Niedermair’s connection to Dior lends a personal depth to this visual journey, celebrating the artistry of fashion itself.

On the decision to bring House of Craft x Dior to Singapore, Jin Yee Young, Co-Head of UBS Global Wealth Management Asia Pacific and Country Head UBS Singapore, notes: “Singapore’s intersection of heritage and innovation provides a distinctive backdrop for celebrating craftsmanship at the highest level, sparking dialogue and discovery.”

Echoing that sentiment, Olivier Bialobos, Deputy Managing Director in charge of Global Communication & Image, Christian Dior Couture and Parfums Christian Dior says the collaboration celebrates Dior’s craftsmanship, elegance and enduring excellence since the New Look in 1947.

He adds: “This artistic dialogue is a tribute to audacity and virtuoso artisanship, at the convergence of past, present and future, in a perpetually shifting cultural landscape”.

 

 

Beyond the exhibition itself, UBS House of Craft x Dior will include exclusive opportunities to engage directly with masters of craft. Across three days, guests can look forward to intimate conversations, panel discussions, and workshops that explore the artistry behind couture.
