MFW SS16: Versace

This season, Versace opted for an air of utilitarian glamour by “mixing tailoring with sportswear and effortless glamour” with tailored jackets, that were nipped in the waist, in shades of khaki, sand and black. Following this, the Italian maison’s SS16 show evolved into an urban jungle with an assortment of multi-coloured animal prints—think sequined leopard prints, and other animalistic features which took the form of raw edges, shredded organza, as well as slashes and slits near the thigh. Alongside the military undertone and jungle influence, Versace maintained its traditions by integrating the brand’s classic Medusa head logo into its collection, incorporating the motif onto its belts and handbags.

Clothing aside, the show was graced by familiar faces on the catwalk and on the front row with models Joan Smalls, Behati Prinsloo and Gigi Hadid strutting the runway, whist the front row saw supermodels and designers including the likes of Riccardo Tisci, Chrisopher Kane, Fausto Puglisi and Naomi Campbell.
