All eyes are on Givenchy as artistic director Clare Waight Keller makes her highly-anticipated debut for SS18 with her first menswear and womenswear collection later today. Leading up the show, the brand has launched a contest on the streets of Paris with a series of tear-off posters featuring Purrkins the Cat where you can stand a chance to win tickets the show. Many may have noticed the abundance of cat references in the series of teasers unveiled by the brand, and Clare explained her decision saying, “I love the idea of a woman with a feline air. A person may seem slightly reserved, but they have that serene, straightforward gaze. They’re seductive. You want to meet them, know more about them, and be like them. I wanted to play with that modern attitude and expression because I feel like it’s an apt metaphor for Givenchy’s current evolution”.
