Who: Silver screen stars Naomi Watts, Isabelle Huppert, Zoe Saldana, Vanessa Kirby and Mindy Kaling were present in the front row. No strangers to the runway, models Liya Kebede and Karolina Kurkova were on the different side of the catwalk sitting alongside a star-studded front row.

The low-down: This season was inspired by Black Mountain College – a liberal arts college founded in 1933 -famously known for its unconventional approach to education and shaping the trajectory of modern art in the United States. Sharply tailored coats in heavy wool were offset with sturdy rectangular buckles in replacement of the usual round button while the logomania trend is seen in a more subdued manner – a tiny embroidered T is sewn in just below the waist. Usually known for their feminine silhouettes and “girly girl” persona, it was refreshing to see Tory Burch present an oversized utilitarian quilted parka. Tory Burch does street with a twist: Pink florals and paisley on the inner lining.

Buro loves: The crepe de chine blouses with exaggerated ruffled collars. Worn beautifully on its own but also paired with Tory Burch’s v-neck sequinned chiffon dress. The striking orange of the shirt on the sparking blue dress make a head-turning contrast.

Sies Marjan

Where: The show audience was met with a glitterered runway in anticipation. What appeared to be glitter dust were in fact 3 million tiny Swarovski crystals. In relevancy to waste and sustainability, creative director Sander Lak noted that all the crystals would be duly recycled.

The low-down: A fun punchy colour palette that lifts spirits with exciting hues that’ll brighten the gloomy winter season. Rainbow silk dresses trimmed with differing colours of lace, satin nightgowns to be worn under coats and trenchcoats for an exhilarating thrill. The glitter wasn’t only present on the runway, the clothes sparkled with shimmer and sheen prepared for electrifying looks.

Buro loves: The pink assymmetrical shawl paired with zesty lime trousers and a hint of azure — what a colour combo!
