NYFW SS16: Tibi

The biggest surprise we had from Tibi’s SS16 collection was the abundance of sequins in everything—from slouchy tops to wide-legged culottes. This is worth mentioning especially after 2012 when the label rebranded its aesthetic to become more relaxed and minimalistic with a slight edge.

Founder and designer Amy Smilovic used a muted palette and silhouettes of the 90s while offering a slight twist or two with pleated details, the use of taffeta, and one-shouldered tops paired with flowy midi skirts and bermuda shorts—perfect for the modern contemporary wearer.
