Buro 24/7 celebrates the launch of Buro Fashion Forward Initiative in partnership with Farfetch in Paris
In the midst of Paris Fashion Week, the historic Hôtel de Crillon was abuzz with the who's who in fashion – Buro 24/7's Miroslava Duma, José Neves of Farfetch.com, models Arizona Muse, and Jasmine Sanders, designer Gabriela Hearst, Vetements CEO Guram Gvasalia, along with Buro 24/7 international editors were all in attendance at the intimate gala dinner held to celebrate this year's Buro Fashion Forward Initiative (BFFI).
Spearheaded by Duma, BFFI is a platform, and now global project, where up-and-coming fashion designers are able to present their collections during Paris Fashion Week to buyers and press, and have their capsule collection sold exclusively on Farfetch.com. This year's edition of BFFI will see the showroom happening next March, in conjunction with the next installation of Paris Fashion Week, with the clothes going on sale on Farfetch.com thereafter. The select group of designers chosen for this year's initiative will work under the guidance of Candice Fragis, Buying and Merchandising Director at Farfetch.com, to create their capsule collection.
"This year, BFFI finally becomes a truly global project, where we'll be presenting, and supporting designers from countries around the world," says Duma. "Our theme is football as a tribute to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The designers will showcase their own approach to a perfect sports kit."
In line with the football theme, the unique visual concept and décor was created by Roman Kovalishin, founder and creative director of Visionar Studio, who created a sophisticated version of a football field with 15,000 rare green and black carnations for the table setting.
"It's a great pleasure to be working with Miroslava and the Buro 24/7 team again," says José Neves, Founder, Co-Chairman, and CEO of Farfetch Group. "I started Farfetch with the vision of bringing together designers, boutiques, brands, and lovers of fashion from around the world. Being able to help emerging designers to reach a new audience who will fall in love with their collections is a great privilege for us."
