Need: These very luxurious Adidas Originals and Hender Scheme collaboration sneakers
An original scheme
Interesting story: For those unaware, Hender Scheme has been making replicas of iconic sneakers for years. Their method “pays homage” to popular shoes by rebuilding them in luxurious vachetta tanned leather using artisanal techniques—both typically reserved for high-end formal footwear.
The Japanese brand, albeit revered for their craft, has long teetered on the line between tribute and imitation. This multi-season collaboration with Adidas legitimises the concept. And after much anticipation, it has been revealed that the Micro Pacer, NMD R1 and Superstar will receive the Hender Scheme treatment.

Like previous creations, these three silhouettes will be fleshed out entirely by hand at the brand’s Tokyo atelier. Every pair comes in the classic Hender Scheme pastel palette and deluxe vegetable-tanned goat and cow leather uppers that will age naturally over time. Touches of luxury like a fully replaceable nail-in sole enters the picture but staple components such as the pedometer on the Micro Pacer and NMD R1’s Boost midsoling have been left out.
Each silhouette is slated for a super limited 300-pair run; making a sum of only 900 pairs for this instalment of the collaboration. The Superstar will retail at $900 USD, it’s $950 for the Micro Pacer and the NMD will cost $1,000.
